While studying in Prague I covered controversy surrounding a Soviet-era statue which revealed underlying cultural tension between communist nostalgia and the European Union.
In this story, I investigated the progress made integrating Roma students into Czech primary schools four years after new legislation targeted towards inclusive education was passed. In the process, I tracked down a Roma family willing to speak with me, heard from activists and secured an interview with one of the ministers of the Education, Youth and Sports department.
